Incunabula’s Limited Little, Big to Include Unpublished Work by Crowley, Greater Limitation, Revised Schedule

Ron Drummond, publisher of Incunabula, quality small press of Seattle, has announced several refinements to the subscription-based 25th Anniversary Edition of John Crowley’s Little, Big, foremost among them the inclusion, in Numbered and Lettered copies of the book, of a never-before-published piece by John Crowley. This work will not be included in the regular Trade edition of the book.

In addition, the limitation of the Numbered edition has been changed, from 600 copies to just 300. Says Drummond, “In one swell foop, we have upped the value of the Numbered edition considerably — I can only imagine that those who have already subscribed will be pleased, and that those who have been sitting on the fence will now act to secure their copies. To sweeten the deal, we will maintain the current asking price of $250 a copy until Autumnal Equinox 2006; after that, the price will go up to $300.” (The 26-copy Lettered edition has long since sold out.)

In conjunction with this change, the press run on the regular Trade edition will be upped from 1,500 copies to 1,800 copies. The current Trade price of $95 will be maintained through to publication, after which it will be raised to $120 a copy.

Drummond says that while the number of subscription purchases received thus far have not yet reached the minimum “green light” amount to guarantee publication of the edition, the gap is rapidly closing. “I’m more confident than I have ever been that this edition will be published,” Drummond says. “But we still need the help of fans of Little, Big to make it so. This is the final push! If every subscriber to the 25th Anniversary Edition of Little, Big would take it upon him or herself to talk one or two other fans into signing up, we will be home free.”

Publication of the edition is now slated for Spring 2007.
