Little, Big 25 Project Update

We are deeply immersed in editorial and production work on the 25th Anniversary Edition of Little, Big, and have been for some months now. The edition is shaping up splendidly, but given the sheer scale and complexity of the project, work has been progressing more slowly than anticipated and our schedule has slipped. We are now scheduled to go to press in July; books will become available starting in September.

Two milestones:

In January, I received an 11,000-word essay from Harold Bloom, an exuberant, elliptical, deeply personal meditation on Little, Big and the Ægypt Quartet. This essay will form the exclusive Afterword to all three editions of Little, Big 25.

And in April, I received a brand new, 5,300-word story from John Crowley, a totemic revisitation of Edgewood and two of its odder denizens, to be published as an exclusive appendix to the Numbered and Lettered Editions of Little, Big.

In other news, last year on the Little, Big 25 website we launched an open-ended, “perpetual” interview with John Crowley and invited all subscribers to participate. If you are a subscriber to the 25th Anniversary Edition and have any long-pondered questions about Little, Big to ask of Mr. Crowley, please send up to three questions to editor@littlebig25.com. It’s up to Crowley to decide which questions to answer, but all reasonable questions will be considered.

To all those who by their support have made the 25th Anniversary Edition of Little, Big possible: thank you. The book is on its way — and it’s going to be beautiful.

Best Wishes,

Ron Drummond
Editor and Publisher
